Job Description

Technical Co-coordinators are dedicated experts focused on designing, coordinating jobs and project managing. They will use their technical knowledge to ensure that Field Technicians have the detailed instructions and all the components they need to carry out their jobs first time.

What you’ll be doing as the Technical Coordinator

The management of the pre-requisites (materials, permits, resources and services) for all complex jobs for planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations. This role will involve day to day contractor liaison and management, input into future planning and solutions, monitoring and analysing data gathered via SCADA from Pumping Stations to identify problems and provide technical support to the wider team.
The role covers a wide geographical area around North London, so a willingness to move around day to day is essential.

This role can be based out of Beckton – IG110AD.

What will this role involve?
  • Effectively manage the technical workbench to ensure no delays of stock for technicians to deliver maintenance workplan, including planned follow-ups and additional work.
  • Obtain quotes, order materials, and 3rd party services through our framework contractors, getting the best value goods and services and staying within budget.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Arrange contractor attendance to address asset failures and pumping station refurbishment, ensuring safe methods of work. This includes reviewing contractor RAMS, issuing permits to work (TWOSAs), and carrying out proactive H&S audits.
  • Be responsible for asset availability at our Pumping stations and take ownership of improvement plans. Support improvements to asset availability and resilience, including leading on technical fixes as required, planned, and in event situations.
  • Carry out data analysis on Pumping station operation to recognise trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Use the risk-based system, APS, to highlight sites risks and attend Risk Review meetings to make the case for funding to address risks at Pumping stations.
  • Liaise with the Planning Team by attending planning meetings.
  • Take ownership and deliver local capital schemes.
  • Assist in Health & Safety briefings and procedures, working proactively with the safety equipment team and statutory inspection.
  • Team engagement and providing guidance where required.
  • Promote and encourage a positive health and safety culture. Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly, through safe system of work approval, reviewing RAMS, permitting, and site audits.

We’re looking for you to have the following Skills:
  • Technically experienced with a good understanding of how to maintain assets.
  • Experience in managing contractors.
  • IOSH or knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and application.
  • Able to consistently produce work of a high standard with strong attention to detail.
  • A Process knowledge or background.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate in a friendly, open, and constructive manner with a range of people.
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and be proactive.
  • Good decision-making abilities.
  • Proactive and enjoy problem-solving.
  • You will have a passion for driving positive behaviours throughout your region and a willingness to help the team meet stretching operational targets.
  • Competent and confident using IT systems.
  • Due to the nature of the role, a full UK Driving licence is required.
