Fixed Term Contract for Maternity Cover - 12 months

As the Strategic Operations, Transformation and Performance Director you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic change across the COO group, including operating model transformation, sourcing change, strategic transformation, capability development and other regulatory-driven change.

What you’ll be doing as a Strategic Operations, Transformation and Performance Director

You will be accountable for improving capability across the COO group regarding transformation, change, business management, governance, process delivery, improvement and performance. It is responsible for developing a performance management and governance framework across the COO group.

You will also be responsible for leadership across the turnaround plan, turnaround governance and its ongoing effective delivery, working in collaboration with colleagues across the COO group, alongside delivering projects and programmes related to the broader strategic priorities of the COO group.

What you should bring to the role
  • Develop strategy across the Division, ensuring line of sight to Thames Water strategic priorities, 2050 vision, Turnaround delivery, and the strategic priorities of the COO group.
  • Lead the design and delivery of key transformation projects and programmes across the COO group, including but not limited to operating model transformation, sourcing change, strategic transformation, capability development, strategic scenario development, industry benchmarking, digital transformation and regulatory-driven transformation.
  • Ensure leadership across the turnaround plan, turnaround governance and its ongoing effective delivery, working in collaboration with colleagues across the COO group.
  • Develop a performance management and governance framework across the Division, linking investment, operational activity, capital delivery and performance with incentives.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership and external stakeholder engagement skills with the regulator, government, and public interest groups.
  • Formulate and gain approval for the integrated business plan (IBP), working with group finance and Operations finance teams. Understand drivers, risks and opportunities associated with price control outcomes and support the resulting business planning processes, working with Strategy, Planning & Engineering Director and other COO LT colleagues.
