What you’ll be doing as a Proactive Maintenance Engineer
  • Perform top-down site and system criticality assessments and recommend an associated criticality score based on data and insight.
  • Support the Maintenance Data Verification 2 process and provide technical leadership in planning decisions.
  • Perform and recommend optimisation of system and site maintenance plans based on criticality scores.
  • Instigate a plan to eliminate or reduce the losses through root cause analysis.
  • Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment and processes.
  • Develop solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems adversely affecting operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
This role will be based at Reading Sewage Treatment Works, Hybrid. You will be required to attend the office and sites up to 3 times a week, and  as the role and business require you to do
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday
Must be a driver and have access to a car to travel to sites. This role will come with a £4.5k car allowance

What you should bring to the role
  • Degree-qualified or hold a HNC in a Science, Engineering or Maths basis
  • Proven knowledge of originating and delivering maintenance programmes
  • Engineering knowledge gained within an operational / maintenance environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical capability, with the ability to effectively collaborate, influence and inspire reliability-centred maintenance best practices and lead workshops
  • Been exposed to forecasting, scheduling, and planning processes and systems throughout the asset lifecycle
