Job Description

This is a really exciting opportunity to join the Thames Water Strategic Resource Option (SRO) team who are responsible for the development of several projects that will improve resilience to drought and minimise interruptions to water supplies in the South-East whilst protecting the environment.

You will play a massive role in developing and delivering an education programme to support the successful development of the new water infrastructure proposals. The education programme will aim to raise awareness of the pressures on our water resources and an understanding of the need to invest in water infrastructure to ensure a secure water supply for future generations, making people inspired and understanding the challenges we face.

What you’ll be doing as an Education Manager SRO
  • Developing and delivering an education programme for the strategic infrastructure projects for primary and secondary schools. The programme should be multi-layered and cover all stages of education from primary years through to further and higher education.
  • Prepare innovative and engaging resources which inspire young people to take an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects and careers.
  • Develop and support initiatives to bring the voice of young people into the design of the infrastructure projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organisations and stakeholders in the education fields.
  • Foster and manage the participation of the SRO team and partners consultants and contractors to deliver the programme and initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on the programme outcomes.
  • Communicate and showcase the programmes.
What you should bring to the role
  • Previous experience working in an education role and working with schools and education professionals is essential.
  • Have excellent and inspiring communication and influencing skills, to clearly interact with various individuals.
  • Previous admin and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and work flexibly to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Working in a fast paced and demanding environment to meet project timescales.
  • Be flexible and resilient to deal with project challenges.
  • A great team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
