Job Description

We seek a Senior Commissioning Assurance Engineer to oversee the successful commissioning of our Sewage treatment works in development and ensure that Thames Water interfacing projects are commissioned to the required standards.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Commissioning  Engineer
  • Review and monitor MEICA design deliverables and related project risks and provide expertise to support the work of the design manager and project commissioning manager.
  • Review and provide timely answers to relevant technical queries raised by the Main Works Contractors and other parties. Liaise with MWCs MEICA Design Coordinator and Commissioning teams to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at the design stage and include the inappropriate scope of works.
  • Ensure that the assets being provided by contractors for transfer to TWUL (Thames Water) are constructed and commissioned to the correct standards and quality.
  • Liaise with the Area Delivery Engineers to ensure that the TWUL operational assets and resources are available to enable the MWC’s works to progress as programmed.
  • Play a vital role in the planning of worksite commissioning and the delivery of the system commissioning activities.
  • Assist in the development of Commissioning Programmes. Provide input into Commissioning Strategy Reviews and Documentation—review and development of Compliance & Commissioning Plan.
  • Play a vital role in the assurance of handover deliverables.
Hybrid - Guildford Sewage Treatment Works - working 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle will be required. This role will come with a £4.500 car allowance.

What you should bring to the role
  • Instrumentation/Controls and SCADA.
  • Electrical Engineering.
  • On-site technical assurance and commissioning of assets.
  • Knowledge of construction/MEICA practices associated with working on and near existing assets.
  • Knowledge of construction health and safety matters and the risks associated with working near or on wastewater assets.
  • Knowledge of the inspection, witness testing and handover of constructed or installed assets.

  • Competitive salary from £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
