Job Description

The Business analyst works with the organisation to identify & define opportunities for improvement, and deliver change successfully to people, process, and technology.
This position will contribute to the transformation agenda; consulting with the Head of Solution Enablement and Practice Excellence Lead, helping to deliver the Business Analysis overall strategy in the short and long term.

What you’ll be doing as a Business Analyst
  • Recommending the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. Able to help stakeholders to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise requirements and work to realise business outcomes and key business benefits over the short and long term
  • Performing detailed business analysis, process redesign on multiple / concurrent projects and develop project artefacts as required. Collaborate with internal business and technical users to deliver documents as required
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into detail and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • You will examine, communicate, and negotiate business processes whilst collaborating with our technical teams and key stakeholders. You will map as-is and to-be business process, and run review sessions with subject matter experts to confirm true representation to deliver content for defined products
  • Supporting members in the Business Analysis team to meet client deadlines and drive development and efficiencies within the team and projects; Leads others to innovate in their work as well as innovating on their own projects/work activities
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Practice and a through-life, evolutionary requirements process. Helping lead the adoption of agile principles practices and cultural changes to improve how Thames Water delivers change across the organisation
  • Work with the Head of Solution Enablement and the Practice Excellence Lead to evolve and grow the capability and remit of the Business Analysis Practice, demonstrating your passion for continuous improvement and service excellence
Base Location: Reading - Hybrid
Working Pattern: 36 Hours

What you should bring to the role
  • Business Analysis Diploma
  • Experience of business analysis, process definition and analysis
  • Good inter-personal skills and is confident in dealing with stakeholders
  • Broad understanding of business processes
  • Ability to present information clearly and succinctly at varying levels of detail, emphasis on simplifying complex business and technical concepts
  • Experience of leading and mentoring Business Analysts within programmes and projects
  • Experience in a range of BA methodologies and techniques across both Agile and Waterfall deliveries
  • Experience within the utilities industry is beneficial
