Salary: £29,000 - £35,500
Our client, a highly respected and well-established professional services firm with multiple offices across the South West, is seeking a 
People Officer to join their friendly and dynamic HR team on a 
fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a personable and proactive HR professional to make an impact across key areas of 
Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and Wellbeing. Working closely with the People Director and a small, collaborative team, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the professional growth and engagement of employees across the organisation. 
The Role  As a 
People Officer, you will support the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on learning and development, wellbeing initiatives, and recruitment coordination.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting recruitment campaigns and career events, particularly during busy periods or to provide cover within the team
 - Coordinating onboarding plans and induction sessions for new starters
 - Designing and delivering engaging face-to-face and virtual training sessions
 - Assisting senior leaders with training content and delivery
 - Supporting soft skills development and wellbeing initiatives across the firm
 - Organising large-scale internal events such as the Annual Firm Day and wellbeing campaigns
 - Managing training administration, course bookings, and CPD processes
 - Liaising with external training providers and promoting training opportunities internally
 - Coordinating initiatives such as “Training Tuesdays” and “Wellbeing Wednesdays”
 - Overseeing employee wellbeing programmes, including healthcare and mental health support
 - This is a varied and rewarding role offering exposure to a wide range of HR and people-related activities within a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will bring:- A genuine interest in learning, development, and wellbeing
 - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 - Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
 - Confidence in designing and delivering engaging presentations and training materials
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams); Canva experience is a bonus
 - Flexibility to travel between offices when required
 - Experience in training, HR, or recruitment (desirable)
