Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Finance Manager to join a well-established organisation within a fast-paced, service-led environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for supporting the leadership of a busy finance function and managing a small team.
You will work closely with the Finance Director, playing a key role in day-to-day operations while contributing to financial planning, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities Financial Operations- Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Assist in producing detailed forecasting documentation
- Review and validate monthly accruals and prepayments
- Process prepayments and ensure accurate monthly allocations
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare payroll analysis and financial reports
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure alignment between purchase ledger and general ledger
Team Leadership - Supervise and support a small finance team
- Lead regular team meetings and ensure follow-up on actions
- Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals
- Promote a positive and compliant working environment, including health & safety adherence
About You - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Confident in interpreting financial data and producing reports
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions
- Comfortable presenting information to stakeholders at various levels
Skills & Experience - Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role
- Experience within a service-led or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, regulations, and compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with accounting systems
