SEN Learning Support

Are you passionate about supporting young people with autism, learning disabilities, or special educational needs? Do you have experience in health and social care or a background in support work? We are looking for individuals with transferable skills to work in a college environment, providing essential support to students with additional needs.

Role: Support Worker
Location: Peterlee
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 am- 4:00 pm (Term Time Only)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with autism and learning disabilities in a college setting.
  • Assist students in their academic and personal development.
  • Support the teaching staff in managing the classroom and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with everyday tasks and encourage independence in students.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of autism and/or experience in health and social care or supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Transferable skills to adapt to a college learning environment.
