An exciting opportunity as arisen for a dynamic Business Development professional with proven expertise in conference and sponsorship sales to join the team to drive partnership growth and enhance event participation.
Overview:As Business Development Manager for Events & Partnerships you will sell sponsorship packages across a diverse portfolio of conferences and events and recruit new partners. This role involves building meaningful relationships with partners and stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive and consultative approach to account management. Current partners include major corporations including but not limited to British Airways, Deloitte, KPMG, Intertek, as well as SMEs, insurance, payment solutions, IT, marketing, and the legal sector.
Responsibilities:
Sponsorship Sales: Sell sponsorship, exhibition, and speaking packages; foster relationships with sponsors and industry professionals; ensure sponsorships enhance event content; expand industry reach; attend events and exhibitions; manage the sponsorship booking process.
Partner Recruitment: Lead the recruitment strategy; identify growth areas; recruit high-calibre partners; oversee onboarding; deliver commercial solutions for partner packages; maintain and promote partner recruitment web pages.
Customer Service: Adopt a consultative approach to account management; host sponsors and guests at events; measure and evaluate partner satisfaction; handle feedback and complaints effectively.
Financial Management: Achieve sales targets; ensure cost efficiencies; maintain profitability on bespoke packages; submit monthly sales figures.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the event management team on administration, content, venue setup, and on-the-day management; work with marketing teams on sponsorship promotions.
Skills and Experience:- Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to engage and build relationships with senior stakeholders at executive and C-Suite levels.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in selling event sponsorship.
- Ability to strategically plan and prioritise stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Team-oriented with a knack for generating innovative ideas.
- Proficiency with CRM systems.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal skills.
- Professional attitude with a passion for delivering excellent service.
