CAD Technician Pertemps Stoke are seeking a skilled and motivated CAD Technician to join our client’s team in the Stoke-on-Trent area. As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in supporting design and engineering teams with the creation of 2D and 3D technical drawings, using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, ranging from initial design concepts to detailed technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities of this CAD Technician role:- Produce high-quality 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
- Support the design team by converting conceptual ideas and designs into accurate, detailed technical drawings.
- Liaise with engineers and other team members to ensure design specifications are met.
- Prepare and update drawing documentation for ongoing projects and ensure all changes are recorded.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company and industry standards.
- Assist with the development of technical solutions and the modification of designs as needed.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure that designs are practical, feasible, and meet project requirements.
- Provide CAD support for new product development, including drafting, modelling, and simulations.
- Collaborate with various teams across different stages of the project lifecycle, from design to manufacturing.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-documented filing system for CAD files and drawings.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical input where necessary.
Skills and Qualifications required for this CAD Technician role:- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor (3D) is desirable. Experience in similar software is essential.
- A strong understanding of engineering design principles and the ability to translate concepts into precise technical drawings.
- Previous experience in a CAD Technician role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for CAD drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders.
- A relevant qualification in CAD, engineering, or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent) would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of additional software or design tools is a plus (e.g., SolidWorks, Revit, etc.).
Information about this CAD Technician role:- Salary: £30,000 per annum.
- Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
