Facilities Manager
Pay: £18.32 to £25.23 depending on experience
Hours: Shift- 7am to 3pm or 2pm to 10pm

Purpose of the RoleThe
Facilities Manager reports to the
General Manager, supported by the
Central Estates Function, and is responsible for
delivering both soft and hard Facilities Management across a designated cluster of properties. Leading a team, they ensure
a well-maintained, safe, secure, clean, compliant, and efficient environment, underpinned by
exceptional customer service. Additionally, they support the
development and execution of the
national FM strategy and standards, ensuring consistent local delivery while being accountable for
health, safety, and security.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a brand ambassador, fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for residents while ensuring strong team communication.
- Oversee recruitment, retention, and engagement of the Facilities team through exceptional people and performance management.
- Ensure facilities personnel are adequately staffed, trained, and equipped to respond to all scenarios effectively.
- Promote CARE (Connect, Act, Respect, Encourage) principles, delivering a world-class student experience.
- Ensure timely issue resolution, root cause identification, and escalation of unresolved concerns.
- Drive compliance with Unite policies, procedures, and best practices, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the planned maintenance program, ensuring statutory compliance and adherence to quality assurance standards.
- Ensure H&S and fire-related assessments, monitoring, and testing are completed 100% in line with requirements.
- Collaborate with IT to maintain continuous service provision, including technology support.
- Manage security operations, ensuring residents and colleagues' safety 24/7.
- Oversee property estate P&L, identifying future capital investment needs.
- Ensure timely and budget-friendly project completion, in partnership with the project team.
- Maintain cleanliness of internal and external spaces, ensuring high kerb-side appeal.
- Provide out-of-hours emergency service support, when applicable.
- Manage fleet operations.
- Actively support the sustainability strategy, encouraging the team to contribute toward sustainability targets.

Technical Capabilities- Prior experience in Facilities Management (FM), preferably within PBSA.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems.
- Solid knowledge of property-related health and safety regulations.
- Proven experience in fire safety management.
- Expertise in small-to-medium project management.
