Pertemps Bristol is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering firm and the largest generator specialist in the South West. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, reliable individual to join a skilled team as a Labourer / Workshop Assistant at their Warmley facility.
Working within a busy fabrication workshop and yard, you'll provide general labouring support to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly. This is a practical, physical role ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning on the job, and contributing to a collaborative team.
You'll be given the opportunity to develop your skills in sheet metal work and machinery, with training and guidance from experienced engineers.
Labourer / Workshop Assistant Location: Warmley, Bristol (BS30)
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary ( 3-4 Months )
Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities - Operate fabrication machinery such as guillotine and press brake
- Support general sheet metal work and engineering processes
- Assist skilled tradespeople and fabricators with day-to-day tasks
Yard & Material Handling
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment (forklift licence training can be provided)
- Keep the yard and workshop areas tidy and organised
- Assist with general duties including moving stock and preparing items for dispatch
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company Health & Safety policies
- Contribute to regular housekeeping across the workshop and company vehicles
- Work in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 procedures, supporting a culture of continuous improvement
About You - Practical and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn and take direction from supervisors
- Health and safety conscious with good attention to detail
Essential Requirements- General mechanical or engineering background (formal qualifications not required)
- Comfortable with physical tasks and manual handling
- Good communication and time management skills
Desirable- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain – training may be provided)
- Previous experience in a workshop, fabrication, or engineering environment
