Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for Workshop Engineers for one of the nation's leading generator hire company based in BS30, Warmley. This company specialize in providing reliable, sustainable power solutions for various sectors, such as construction/infrastructure, electrical contractors and utilities, and various other applications.
- £29,500-£37,150 per annum based on experience
- Monday to Friday role, 8am-5pm with Overtime available
- Asap start, following interview process

Key Responsibilities:Generator Maintenance
· Perform routine service, maintenance, and overall upkeep of large, containerised generators (500 KVA and above) within the rental fleet.
· Follow manufacturers’ recommended service schedules to ensure optimal performance.
Engine Rebuilds & Repairs
· Conduct rebuilds and repairs of large diesel engines (15L to 60L) from leading manufacturers such as Perkins, Cummins, and others.
Yard Operations
· Assist with general tasks in the yard, including loading and offloading equipment.
· Operate forklift equipment as needed.
Delivery & Collection
· Deliver and collect generators and ancillary equipment using company vehicles.
· Refuel generators as part of the delivery process when required.
On-Site Service & Repairs
· Provide servicing and repairs for Power Electrics’ equipment as well as customer-owned equipment on-site, when necessary.
On-Call Responsibilities
· Participate in the company’s on-call rota system to ensure 24/7 support.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
· Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, and maintain a safe, tidy work environment in line with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
Health & Safety Compliance
· Adhere to relevant regulations and ISO standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 50001), actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience:Technical Qualifications
· A relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent).
· Alternatively, completion of an approved apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent proven experience in servicing and repairing large diesel engines.
Skills
· Strong fault-finding skills and effective communication abilities
· Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration
Overtime Rates:Rates apply to hours worked outside of standard times, as outlined below:
Monday to Friday
12 am to 4 am - Double Time
8am to 5pm - Standard Time
5pm to Midnight - Time and Half
Saturdays
12 am to 4 am - Double Time
4 am to Midnight - Time and Half
Sundays & Bank
Holidays - Double Time ( All Hours )
