Job Description
Monday to Friday | 37.5 hours per week | £17.50 per hour
We are recruiting on behalf of one of our established clients in Stratford-upon-Avon for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to ensure the safe operation, maintenance and efficiency of plant machinery and site services.
The Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining and maximising the performance of plant equipment and site systems, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting overall production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of site services including electrical and pneumatic systems, signage, heating systems (wood pellet), and drainage
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to plant machinery and services
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Operating machine tools such as lathes, millers, drills and grinders
- Interpreting technical manuals and engineering drawings
- Assisting with ordering spare parts and maintaining stock levels
- Using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, Verniers, etc.)
- Managing daily oil refresh processes in line with recycling procedures
- Following all company health & safety policies
- City & Guilds qualification preferred
- Apprenticeship trained preferred
- Approximately 5 years’ relevant engineering experience
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience with machine tools and precision measuring equipment
- Forklift experience advantageous
Working Environment:
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- Oily, noisy conditions with oil mist/smoke present
- Slippery surfaces at times
- Physically demanding role involving heavy lifting
- PPE required at all times
- Occasional outdoor work in all weather conditions
