About the RoleWe’re recruiting for a forward-thinking Head of Engineering to lead and develop an engineering division, embedding Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and delivering excellence across manufacturing operations. This is a senior leadership position, overseeing strategic projects, driving innovation, and shaping engineering strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- Deliver enterprise-wide Lean Six Sigma and CI initiatives with measurable results.
- Oversee complex, large-scale projects with multi-million-pound budgets.
- Shape and implement long-term engineering and asset strategies.
- Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through Lean and TPM.
- Develop refurbishment and investment plans, including new line proposals.
- Partner with HSE to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Implement structured AM (Autonomous Maintenance) and PM (Preventive Maintenance) programs.
- Optimise production line changeovers using SMED to minimise downtime.
- Introduce a robust reactive maintenance strategy focused on efficiency and root cause analysis.
What You’ll Bring- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (essential).
- Proven track record in senior engineering leadership.
- Experience managing large, complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong background in Continuous Improvement, Lean, and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, developing talent, and driving cultural change.
- Strategic, hands-on leader with strong communication and project management skills.
