Yard Operative 

Pertemps Wrexham, are currently looking for a Yard Operative for our new client based in CH42 1LQ.

For this Yard Operative role, you will be responsible for:
• Refueling Equipment: Ensuring all machinery and vehicles on-site are filled with the correct fuel to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll be tasked with refueling various types of equipment in a safe and timely manner.
• Fuel Extraction: Using a bowser fuel pump to extract and deliver fuel to various equipment across the site. This requires attention to detail and a strong focus on safety protocols.
• Accompanying Van Drivers: You’ll be working alongside Van Drivers, assisting with navigating the site and ensuring that vehicles are safely guided to their required destinations. You will act as a spotter, ensuring that the area is clear and all equipment is operated efficiently.
• Maintaining Safety Protocols: Continuously monitoring the site to ensure all activities are carried out in line with health and safety regulations. You’ll play an integral part in maintaining site safety.
• Effective Communication: Coordinating with the Van Driver and other team members to ensure smooth operations, ensuring that all movements on-site are communicated clearly to avoid any disruptions or accidents.
• Managing Site Logistics: You will assist with site management, directing vehicles, machinery, and people to the appropriate areas of the site. You’ll need to ensure that equipment is in the right place at the right time to maximise efficiency.
• Ensuring Operational Efficiency: You’ll help streamline site operations by ensuring all equipment is ready and operational, which helps maintain overall productivity. 

For this Yard Operative Role, You Will Need:
• Ability to Work Under Pressure: The role requires someone who can stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. You’ll need to effectively manage multiple tasks, respond quickly to challenges, and ensure that safety is never compromised, even during busy periods.
• Competent and Safe Work Practices: It’s essential that you work in a methodical and responsible manner at all times. Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures is paramount to ensure the well-being of both yourself and your colleagues on-site.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is key to coordinating with team members and other workers on-site. You’ll need to provide precise instructions, listen carefully, and ensure all safety measures and operational plans are understood by everyone involved.
Details of this Yard Operative Role:
• Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – This rotation will give you the opportunity to maintain a good work-life balance, with consistent time off between shifts.
• Duration of Work: The role is initially temporary for approximately 10 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on the client’s requirements.
• Location: The role is based in CH42 1LQ providing you with a stable and accessible work location for the duration of the assignment.

Shift Patterns and Pay Rates:
• Days Shift: 07:00 – 17:00 (4 on, 4 off) Pay: £13.50 per hour 
• Nights Shift: 19:00 – 05:00 (4 on, 4 off) Pay: £14.50 per hour 
• Saturdays: Pay: £18.00 per hour 
• Sundays: Pay: £27.00 per hour
