Job Description
Location: Chester
Pay rate: £14 per hour.
Hours: 16 hours over 2-3 days
Contract: Permanent
Our client is looking for a meticulous and organised Bookkeeper to join their team based in Chester. If you have a strong attention to detail and a passion for numbers, this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily accounting records.
- Log and post all receipts via PDQ, cheque, and BACS.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the production of monthly management accounts.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Calculate sales representative commissions.
- Manage payroll and salaries.
- Oversee the purchase ledger.
- Handle the sales ledger and aged debtor reporting.
- Prepare accounts up to trial balance, profit and loss, and balance sheet.
- Liaise with the company accountant.
- Communicate with HMRC
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software, SAGE50 and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Relevant bookkeeping qualifications (e.g., AAT) are a plus.
