Plating Operative

Pertemps Recruitment is currently seeking Plating Operatives on behalf of a Global Manufacturer located in Hykeham, Lincoln. We have exciting opportunities available within our Plating Department, working on varied surface treatment tasks to support our high-quality production standards.

What will I be doing?

• Cleaning and preparing parts for plating processes.
• Masking and jigging components to precise specifications.
• Performing plating tasks in line with engineering drawings and quality requirements.
• Using standard measuring equipment (e.g., Comparator, Micrometer, Fischer Dualscope).
• Ensuring all processed parts conform to drawings and are completed within allotted times.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting NADCAP accreditation through attention to detail.
• Collaborating with team members to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.
• Supporting additional tasks as required by the Plating Supervisor or Leading Hand.

What skills and experience do I need?

• Diligent and responsible approach to work.
• NVQ in Engineering Manufacture, Advanced Modern Apprenticeship, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an engineering or plating environment.
• GCSE grade C or above in English Language and Maths.
• Computer literacy, ideally with a recognized qualification.
• Experience using standard measurement equipment and strong numerical skills.

What hours will I be working?
Schedule: Monday to Friday, rotating A/B shifts with overtime available when required.

• A Shift: Monday to Thursday 6:00 am to 1:35 pm, Friday 6:00 am to 12:45 pm (No shift premium).
• B Shift: Monday to Thursday 1:25 pm to 9:05 pm, Friday 12:35 pm to 7:00 pm (20% shift premium).

What will I be paid?
Pay is based on a grading system with starting salaries ranging from:
£23,492 to £28,917 per annum, dependent on experience.

• Additional shift premium applies for B Shift (20%)
