An established and growing transport planning and infrastructure consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join their team in Gateshead.

The business operates across multiple UK offices and delivers transport planning, highways design, drainage and development infrastructure solutions for a wide range of private developers and public sector clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of development projects while progressing within a collaborative consultancy environment.

 

The RoleYou will play a key role in the design and delivery of highways infrastructure projects, supporting schemes from concept through to detailed design and approval.
Responsibilities include:

• Delivering Section 278 and Section 38 highways design projects
• Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, designs and reports
• Ensuring designs comply with DMRB, MCHW and local authority standards
• Managing project delivery to programme and budget
• Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Supporting the wider team with projects across multiple offices
• Promoting innovation, quality and continuous improvement
• Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety requirements
  
  

RequirementsEssential

• Experience delivering Section 278 / Section 38 highway schemes
• Strong highways design experience
• Working knowledge of DMRB and relevant highway standards
• Experience delivering projects to programme and budget
• Proficiency with Civil 3D
• Ability to work independently and provide technical input to clients

Desirable

• Experience preparing cost estimates
• Membership of a relevant professional institution
• Full UK driving licence
