About the Role As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will work alongside senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience in electrical building services design. This role offers the chance to contribute to the development of electrical systems for a wide variety of projects, shaping the future of the built environment.
You will develop your design, technical, and software skills while supporting senior engineers in delivering high-quality, sustainable building services. The role provides the opportunity to take responsibility for key tasks and collaborate with a team of professionals dedicated to delivering innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities In this role, you will:
- Assist in the design and specification of Electrical Building Services systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to detailed calculations using industry-standard tools such as Amtech and Dialux/Relux, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
- Support the development of electrical system designs in line with project briefs.
- Assist with the specification and design of electrical installations, including power and lighting systems.
- Play a role in project delivery by contributing to design development, budget monitoring, and project timelines.
- Prepare technical specifications using NBS Chorus, ensuring high-quality documentation.
- Collaborate with the BIM team to produce drawings, with a working knowledge of Autodesk & Revit being beneficial.
- Attend client and contractor meetings to support effective communication and coordination.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections, ensuring the smooth execution of projects on site.
- Write clear and concise technical reports and documentation.
- Work alongside architects and other designers to develop integrated building services solutions.
- Maintain accurate records and project archives, adhering to company standards.
- Follow the company’s quality, environmental, and governance processes to ensure compliance and best practice.
About You The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a relevant engineering degree and be working towards Chartered status or have equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 18 months to 3 years'experience within building services engineering.
- Have a solid understanding of electrical design, with proficiency in Amtech, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft Office packages.
- Be a strong problem solver with a passion for delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions.
- Be eager to develop professionally in a supportive environment, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.
- Enjoy working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team and be ready to take initiative within projects.
- Have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports and document information clearly.
- Experience in attending design team and client meetings is preferred but not essential.
