Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Developer to design, build, and support full-stack services for software delivery. The focus will be on developing and enhancing the RoS AWS Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and support platform services, including libraries (CDK constructs) and vended services to enable platform features.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams to ensure best practices in developing, testing, deploying, and supporting AWS-based products.
  • Create accessible user interfaces using React while aligning with GDS principles where applicable.
  • Develop APIs with clear specifications to support sustainable product development.

Key Skills & Experience Required
  • Full-Stack Development: Proven experience in designing and building working software solutions and deploying to cloud environments using PaaS and SaaS.
  • AWS Expertise: Proficient in AWS Serverless and cloud-native architecture, CI/CD methodology, and native AWS CI/CD tools.
  • React Development: Strong knowledge of JavaScript UI frameworks, specifically React.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience defining infrastructure and processes as code.
  • Testing & Automation: Knowledge of automated testing for AWS environments and build processes.
  • Innovative Mindset: Ability to introduce efficient processes or concepts within the AWS ecosystem.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work effectively with business stakeholders to deliver value-driven solutions.

Desirable Attributes
  • Familiarity with producing accessible UI in line with GDS standards.
  • Previous experience working as part of a community of developers consuming platform services.
