Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Leicester (4 on 4 off, Days & Nights) Salary: £37,000-£40,000 (depending on experience)

 About the Opportunity We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading industrial manufacturer based in Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer with both electrical and mechanical experience to join a well-established engineering team within a busy, process-driven production environment.

 The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on a variety of automated production machinery and industrial equipment.
 - Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, completing repairs quickly and safely to minimise downtime.
 - Support the site’s continuous improvement projects, working closely with other Maintenance Engineers and management to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency.
 - Maintain detailed maintenance records using the site’s CMMS system.
 - Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work.
 - Communicate effectively with Production and Engineering teams, ensuring smooth handovers between shifts.
 - Take part in small engineering projects, upgrades, and process improvements across the plant.
 
 Skills & Experience Required - Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing, engineering, or process environment.
 - Qualified to Level 3 NVQ / BTEC / HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Apprenticeship-trained preferred).
 - Proven multiskilled maintenance background with strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical control systems.
 - Confident in fault-finding, diagnostics, and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
 - Competent using CMMS systems and general IT tools (e.g. MS Office).
 - Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and methodical approach to maintenance.
 
 Desirable Skills - Experience in FMCG, industrial services, textiles, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
 - Knowledge of steam systems, BG01/BOAS accreditation, or chemical water treatment.
 - Familiarity with heat recovery systems, Legionella control (ACOP L8), and PTW/contractor control.
 - Electrical qualifications such as BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations or C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing.
 - Basic fabrication and welding skills.
 - Experience supporting Lean / Six Sigma projects or small CapEx upgrades.
 - IOSH Managing Safely qualification advantageous.
