What will you be doing:- Perform design, research, and development activities, ensuring project completion on time, within budget, and to agreed standards.
- Plan design and R&D activities according to contract requirements and monitor them with the Engineering Manager to meet deadlines and budget.
- Engage in regular design reviews to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
- Understand and balance quality, cost, and delivery implications to find optimal technical solutions.
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications and keep internal teams informed of production requirements and design releases.
- Create, maintain and update BOM with estimated costs and communicate changes to relevant teams.
What are we looking for:- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or qualified by experience.
- Engineering design and analytical skills e.g. DFMEA
- 3D modelling expertise in SolidWorks
- Experience with material selection e.g. composite, plastics, ferrous, non-ferrous, and more.
- Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
- Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal communication style.
- Creative problem-solving approach
