Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design, development, and introduction of new products, as well as redesign existing ranges.
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture, making adjustments as needed.
- Organise and oversee prototype production and testing to confirm correct form, fit, and function.
- Create loading information, technical specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Design customer specials and provide associated technical support and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to design and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other departments to provide technical input and assist with marketing materials.
- Carry out CAM programming and produce flat patterns for manufacturing.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- Minimum of 18 months’ experience in a design-related role within manufacturing/industrial environments.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred).
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across teams, customers, and external organisations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
