Pertemps are proud to be working on behalf of a leading manufacturer based in Dudley, who are looking to appoint a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer to take on a varied and hands-on role, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance across a busy production facility. You’ll play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime, improved reliability, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance routines across production and ancillary equipment.
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and faults, ensuring efficient diagnosis and repair to minimise disruption.
- Conduct fault finding and repair work on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC-controlled equipment.
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems – experience in these areas is highly desirable.
- Liaise with and oversee the work of external contractors where required.
- Manage the ordering and inventory of consumables, spare parts, and maintenance tools.
- Undertake general building and site maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and support ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
What We’re Looking For:- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing setting.
- Strong diagnostic skills in both electrical and mechanical fault finding.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems (basic fault-finding required; programming knowledge an advantage).
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferred but not essential).
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on Health & Safety and efficient work practices.
