Job Description
Temp to perm role with a leading manufacturing business
Favourable day shift
An established, family-owned manufacturing business with over 40 years of experience is seeking a reliable and skilled Warehouse Operative to join its highly productive warehouse team.
The successful candidate will be calm, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Following written procedures for safe working and standard operating practices
- Order picking within an 8,000 sq ft warehouse (approximately 200 picks per day)
- Booking in stock and putting away
- Transporting stock between manufacturing and warehouse facilities
- Stock taking and inventory control
- Re-boxing and weighing smaller orders
- Booking in returned products
- Goods inwards: unloading and storing raw materials
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping
Essential requirements:
- Valid forklift licence (Reach and Counterbalance)
- Full, clean UK driving licence, to permit you to operate the company van
- Experience in a fast-moving warehouse environment
- Excellent command of the English language
- Trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision
- Calm under pressure with a proactive approach
- Courteous and professional when dealing with customers
- Day shifts – between 0700-1700 (1 hr lunch)
- £13 per hour with annual salary reviews
- Temp to perm opportunity
- Full training and extended handover period
- Uniform provided after qualifying period
- Friendly, supportive working environment
- First stage: Face-to-face interview with a site tour
- Second stage: Competency-based assessment of van and forklift driving skills
