PEOPLE ADVISOR

Location: Cardiff 
Pay rate: £21.46 per hour
Temporary 3 month assignment 

Working Hours: 35 per week. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the role, including occasional UK travel, overnight stays and extended working days when necessary. Hybrid Working is available after training.


We are currently recruiting for an experienced People Adviser to join a People and Organisational Development team on a 3 month temporary contract.

Working closely with the People Business Partner, you will deliver a comprehensive and solution focused HR and OD service to managers and staff across the full employee life cycle.

This is a varied role with involvement in employee relations, organisational development and change activity.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide confidential HR advice and guidance on employment relations and people related matters.
• Manage a generalist employee relations caseload including sickness absence, performance management, flexible working and fixed term contracts.
• Coach and support managers to achieve effective informal and formal resolutions.
• Maintain accurate HR records and staffing establishment data.
• Compile and analyse workforce data and produce reports to support business decisions.
• Deliver presentations and training sessions on HR policies and initiatives.
• Support organisational development interventions and change programmes.
• Build effective working relationships within allocated business areas.
• Contribute to projects and continuous improvement across the People and OD function.


About You

• CIPD Level 5 in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
• Strong generalist HR experience across the employee life cycle.
• Sound knowledge of employment law, HR policy and best practice.
• Experience managing employee relations cases independently.
• Confident analysing data and producing reports.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Digitally competent with Microsoft Office systems.
