Our client based in Cardiff is looking for an experienced Medical Secretary for an immediate start temporary assignment.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years previous medical secretarial experience and will be required to provide first class, comprehensive secretarial service to a large team of local Consultant Medical Staff and to facilitate effective communication between medical teams.
Duties will include:- Providing high level direct secretarial support for all consultants, including keeping of parallel diaries, typing correspondence and reports and arranging appointments
- Co-ordination and planning of assessment clinics
- Prepare cases for weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, taking formal minutes for inclusion in patient case notes
- Collate attendance figures at assessment clinics to compile statistical returns
- Plan and organise external meetings and events at the request of the Centre Manager and Consultant Staff.
Essential skills and knowledge:- RSA Level III/NVQ in an administration related subject or equivalent
- Previous medical secretarial experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise work and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Audio typing skills
- Excellent organisation skills
- Knowledge of a broad range of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of MS Office, to include Excel, Outlook and Access
This is a full-time role, working 37 ½ hours per week Monday to Friday.
