Production Engineer

Job Title: Production Supervisor
 Location: Dudley

Shift: Early Shift – 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £36,500 per annum (inclusive of AM shift allowance)

 
About the Role 
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join our heavy industrial manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for supervising production activities on the early shift, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently met.

 
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and has a strong focus on people management and continuous improvement.

 
         Key Responsibilities 

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the shift
• Work closely with maintenance, quality, and planning teams to ensure smooth operations
• Support training, development, and performance management of team members
• Carry out shift handovers and maintain accurate production records
• Monitor production performance and address issues such as downtime, quality defects, or staffing shortages
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production operatives
• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets

About You

 

• Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements in an industrial setting
• Confident people manager with good communication and leadership skills
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure
• Comfortable working early shifts (6:00am – 2:30pm)
• IT literate, with experience using production or reporting systems (desirable)
