Purchase Ledger Clerk - Permanent Opportunity
Location: Oldbury
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
08:30-16:30 or 09:00-17:00 (with a 30-minute lunch break)

About the Role:
Our client is a highly respected manufacturing organisation with a strong presence in their sector. They are looking to welcome a Purchase Ledger Clerk to their supportive and dynamic finance team. In this role, you'll play a key part in the smooth running of the accounts payable function - ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.

What you will be be doing:
  • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Obtaining invoice approvals in line with company policies
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparing and processing BACS and cheque payment runs
  • Maintaining accurate records of all purchase ledger transactions
  • Supporting month-end close processes including accruals and reporting
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries
  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures
  • Assisting with audits and providing required documentation

What our client is looking For:
  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role (desirable)
  • A good level of education including GCSE Maths and English (Grade B or above)
  • Finance-related qualifications are advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, SAP would be very advantageous
  • Strong numerical accuracy and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A proactive and solution-focused mindset
