Full-timeOverview:I am currently looking to recruit a Shipping Coordinator for a manufacturing company.
This role is a full-time fixed term contract until April 2026. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing the coordination of all aspects of product shipments, ensuring on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and smooth operational processes.
Main duties and responsibilities:- Manage and maintain shipping documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and shipping invoices.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurately completed and complies with relevant regulations.
- Assist with spares processing and ensure timely shipment of replacement parts.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers and freight providers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee third-party supplier services, ensuring quality and efficiency in service delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, tariffs, and duties.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting on the status of shipments, ensuring timely delivery.
- Organize the preparation of pallets and shipping plans, ensuring products are packed and labelled correctly.
- Address and resolve any customer issues related to shipping, including delays, damages, or lost shipments.
- Enforce Product Liability Standards and ensure all products are shipped in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Skills required:- Previous experience working within the shipping environment, including both importing and exporting operations.
- Experience working in customer service and inputting data.
- Knowledge in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, with a strong focus on organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to engage and influence both internal teams and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
- Excellent ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads, both for self and others, in a challenging environment.
- Willingness to take responsibility for decisions and take confident action when needed.
- Positive 'can-do' attitude with the flexibility to adapt to challenges.
- Excellent critical thinking and critical thinking skills to address shipping challenges and resolve customer concerns effectively.
