The RoleAs a Technical CAD / Product Development Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing new products while supporting manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and production-ready.
You will work closely with both engineering and production teams, creating detailed technical drawings and ensuring designs meet the highest quality and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities- Designing and developing products using CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor
- Producing detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing
- Checking and reviewing technical drawings for accuracy and quality
- Working closely with the production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible
- Supporting the shop floor with technical queries and product development
- Ensuring designs are optimised for manufacturing efficiency
- Assisting with technical documentation and product specifications
Requirements- Proficiency with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or similar)
- Good knowledge of metals and machining processes
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable (Not Essential)- Experience with Autodesk Vault
- Experience designing door or cabinet hardware
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
- Experience with shop floor machining or manufacturing environments
- Experience producing BOMs (Bills of Materials) and manufacturing documentation
