Controls Technician / Controls Engineer to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, hands-on environment where you will contribute to the design, build and support of bespoke control systems.
The RoleYou will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of control system projects — from initial client discussions through to design, testing and site support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaising with clients to define system specifications and project requirements
- Assisting with the preparation of quotations
- Designing electrical schematics in line with relevant electrical and safety standards
- Designing control panel and cabinet layouts
- Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Developing PLC and HMI software (SCADA experience advantageous but not essential)
- Configuring instrumentation, VFDs and associated control equipment
- Testing equipment for electrical safety and operational compliance prior to dispatch
- Preparing technical documentation and manuals
- Supporting control panel builds in the workshop when required
- Providing technical support to internal teams and associated companies
- Delivering remote/telephone technical support
- Attending site visits when required for commissioning and system support
- Diagnosing and fault-finding control system issues on machinery
- Supporting general workshop and light administrative duties within a small business environment
