An established and award-winning manufacturer within the luxury interiors sector is looking to appoint a Junior Technical CAD / Product Development Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with CAD experience and a background in machining or product development to progress within a forward-thinking business.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and developing products using AutoDesk Inventor.
- Creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
- Working closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Reviewing and checking technical drawings to maintain high standards.
- Providing support to the manufacturing team as required.
- Ensuring all design and development work meets the company’s quality standards.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoDesk Inventor preferred).
- Strong knowledge of metals and machining processes.
- Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with AutoDesk Vault.
- Previous experience in door or cabinet hardware design.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Experience with shop floor machining/manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of creating BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical documentation.
