The Electric Vehicle Technician is the technical expert in our production area, working closely with the Production Engineer to drive process improvements, support new product introductions, and handle specialised re-work activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled intervention to support the production build process. Mentor and coach colleagues to develop multi-skilled capabilities.
• Collaborate with the Production Engineering team to identify, troubleshoot, and implement improvements for more efficient and productive workflows for existing products.
• Assist with initial product builds in coordination with the Research & Development teams.
• Create jigs and fixtures to optimise product builds, ensuring all process documentation is up to date in collaboration with the Production Engineering team.
• Verify component compatibility and support the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Apply technical knowledge to ensure SOPs facilitate product flow, repeatability, and safety, keeping the Production Operator in mind.
• Work with the Production Engineering teams to resolve engineering issues and continuously review and update production standards to improve product quality and de-skill processes.
• Seamlessly liaise with Production teams to provide support and training as needed.
• Promote best working practices within the production area.
• Perform self-inspections and provide advice on technical specifications.
• Responsible for vehicle suspension adjustment and wheel tracking/balancing.
• Assemble products according to build processes (SOPs).
• Complete production paperwork, including the line traveller as required.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Perform any other reasonable duties aligned with the role's remit.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• Level 2 Electric Vehicle System Repair & Replacement.
• Thorough understanding of wheel balancing and lower suspension systems.
• Proficient in operating ERP systems, wheel balancing, and tracking systems.
• Experience using torque wrenches, grinding tools, coils, and springs.
