Job Description
Pay: The pay rate varies from £11.44 to £19.00 depending on experience
Hours: Various day shifts available between the hours of 04:00am and 16:00pm (8/9 hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate furnaces, molds, and other casting equipment to produce metal components
- Predominantly sandcasting but will also involve diecasting
- Prepare materials and equipment for the casting process
- Pour, mold, and finish castings to exact specifications
- Perform quality checks and monitor production to meet high standards
- Safely handle molten metals, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols
- Maintain and clean machinery and tools, reporting any issues or necessary repairs
- Work closely with team members to meet production schedules and targets
- Document and report production metrics as required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a foundry, metalworking, or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential – training provided for the right candidate)
- Knowledge of foundry safety practices and equipment operation
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with exposure to heat and heavy machinery
- Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset
- Basic understanding of measurements and technical drawings
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to learn new techniques and skills
