Steel Material Handler – Wolverhampton | £13.00+ per hour | Monday to Friday


Pertemps Wolverhampton is recruiting on behalf of a leading steel stockholding company for an experienced Steel Material Handler. This is a hands-on, practical role working with steel products, stock management, and value-added processing.

 
About the Role

As a Steel Material Handler, you will play a key part in the steel supply chain, handling, storing, and processing steel sections, plates, and tubes. Your role will support procurement, inventory management, CNC processing, and just-in-time delivery for customers. This is ideal for candidates with experience in steel stockholding,manufacturing environments.

 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:30
Pay: From £13.00 per hour

 
Key Responsibilities

 

• Safe handling and movement of steel stock within the warehouse and yard
  
  
• Supporting stock management, checking certifications, and maintaining inventory accuracy
  
  
• Assisting with steel processing operations such as cutting, drilling, shot blasting, or painting
  
  
• Preparing orders for dispatch and helping coordinate logistics and deliveries
  
  
• Providing technical advice to customers or internal teams on material selection and specifications
  
  

 

 
Skills & Experience Required

 

• Hands-on experience in steel stockholding, steel handling, or Manufacturing operations
  
  
• Practical knowledge of inventory control, stock allocation, and processing machinery
  
  
• Awareness of health and safety regulations in steel handling environments
  
  
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy warehouse or yard
