Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Warrington (WA1 4NF)
Salary: £40,000- £44,000 per annum
Shifts: Monday- Friday 08:00- 16:30
Contract Type: Permanent


Our client is a leader in the global chemical industry creating solutions for everyday sustainable living. As one of the world's largest producers of polymers and a leader in polyolefin technologies, our client develops, manufactures and market high-quality and innovative products for applications ranging from sustainable transportation and food safety to clean water and quality healthcare.

Responsible for maintaining and repairing the plant, equipment, and assets to OEM standards. Also to ensure that the plant and infrastructure is maintained in accordance to the manufacturer's recommendations.


As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your duties will be: -

" Work in a safe manner complying with all rules, regulations, and OE Life Critical Standards. Contributing actively to the provision of a safe working environment for all associates on site including maintenance and improvement projects and contribution to risk assessments.
" Responsible for maintenance and repair to the plant, infrastructure, equipment, and assets to OEM standards and to ensure that plant is available as required by the production plan.
" Work with minimal supervision. Attending any breakdowns promptly and efficiently. Diagnosing faults and their root cause. Escalating any issues that cannot be resolved to the Maintenance Manager.
" To assist in the developing the skill level in the team including apprentices to support the effectiveness of the engineering team.
" Ensure all work carried out is logged. Maintain good communications between shifts using the shift handover to give a detailed report, or a written report if required.
" Must work in compliance with the requirements of the site management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001) to ensure the quality of our products and services provided. The function has authority to stop an activity, including production where non conformity arises.

The successful Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will have the following skills: -

" Time served with electro mechanical background.
" Proven installation experience.
" Min 5 years industrial experience within a maintenance role in semi continuous batch manufacturing.
" Preferably have experience of maintaining extruders, blending systems.
" Must have experience on compressed air systems and be able to read drawings.
" Must have a good level of mechanical skills as this role will involve multi-skilling.
" Must have an understanding of risk assessments and COSHH.
" Able to assess and manage complex maintenance problems under time pressure.
" Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
