Job Description
Salary: £12.84 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
(Flexibility required – occasional early starts and some weekend working may be necessary)
Location: Llanelli
The role:
- Sweep, collect and remove litter, leaves, weeds and waste from public areas including roads, pavements and shopping areas
- Lift, move, empty and return refuse containers such as wheelie bins, household bins, sacks and recycling containers
- Collect fly-tipping and carry out litter picking in allocated areas as directed
- Assist the vehicle driver with safe manoeuvring during collections and at disposal sites
- Drive a cleansing or refuse vehicle when required.
- Report defects, missed collections, spillages and operational issues to the Refuse Supervisor or Area Controller
- Support other duties within the refuse and cleansing service when required
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working in front-line environmental or cleansing services
- Experience using powered tools, mechanical equipment or plant
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
