Job Description
Salary: £12.84 per hour
Hours: 43 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm
(Flexibility required – occasional early starts and some weekend working may be necessary)
Location: Llanelli
The role:
- Carry out general grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming and maintaining sports areas
- Mark out and maintain sports pitches, including grass, artificial and synthetic surfaces
- Complete basic construction and practical tasks, including site preparation and following plans
- Clean public areas including changing rooms, toilets, playgrounds and parks
- Safely apply pesticides following instructions and legal requirements
- Use hand tools, powered tools, machinery, tractors and tractor-mounted equipment
- Visually check playground equipment and record findings as required
- Follow all health and safety rules, policies and safe working practices at all times
- Make sure all vehicles, tools and machinery are safe, roadworthy and well maintained
- Carry out duties across the Environment Department as required
Requirements:
- Full, valid UK driving licence with the ability to tow trailers
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role
- Experience of Working with Hand Tools, Powered Vibrating Machinery and Light Plant
- NPTC PA6A certificate (Desirable)
