BSL Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school for deaf students in Camden. In this role, you will support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their full potential. The successful candidate will utilize their British Sign Language (BSL) skills to provide essential communication support and foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:- Support students with hearing impairments in accessing lessons and school activities using British Sign Language (BSL).
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning plans and adapting resources to meet the needs of students.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for students to help them overcome learning barriers and achieve their goals.
- Promote students’ social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCo, and other staff to ensure students receive a high-quality, inclusive education.
- Monitor and report on student progress, communicating effectively with staff and parents.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
Qualifications and Skills:- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
- Previous experience working in a school or supporting students with hearing impairments is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of the needs of deaf students and inclusive education practices.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
