Communication Support Worker – Haringey – January Start Pertemps Education is looking for an experienced
Communication Support Worker to join a specialist school for deaf students in Haringey. This role involves working across the school’s two sites: one primary site and one secondary site. The successful candidate will provide vital support to students, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in their education.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong British Sign Language (BSL) skills and experience working with deaf students in a school setting.
Location: Haringey
Pay: £110 - £120 per day
Start Date: January

Key Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 and group communication support for students across the primary and secondary sites.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers using British Sign Language (BSL).
- Adapt learning materials and resources to suit individual student needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to deliver an inclusive education.
- Support students’ social and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Monitor and report on student progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents.
- Promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills: - Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
- Previous experience as a Communication Support Worker or Teaching Assistant in a school or similar setting is required.
- A good understanding of the needs of deaf students and strategies for effective communication.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
