Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a
Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the
Croydon area, working with students who display challenging behaviour or have been excluded from mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage in learning.
- Support teaching staff in delivering personalised learning plans and targeted interventions.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence, respect and progress.
- Contribute to creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment where all students feel valued.
Requirements:- Previous experience working in a PRU, SEMH or behavioural setting (essential).
- Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Empathetic, proactive and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Team player with good communication and relationship-building skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
