Pertemps is recruiting an experienced
Occupational Therapist Assistant to join a dynamic Reablement team on a
locum contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about promoting independence and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
About the Role Reporting to a qualified Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in supporting service users to regain and maintain independence. You will carry out
strengths-based occupational therapy assessments, complete reviews for individuals receiving OT equipment and domiciliary care, and contribute to effective, outcome-focused support planning.
You will undertake assessments under relevant legislation—including the
Care Act and the
Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act—ensuring that environmental changes and support needs are accurately reflected in ongoing care provision.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct strengths-based OT assessments and reviews within the Reablement service
- Assess needs under the Care Act and Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act
- Support the delivery of OT interventions that promote independence and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and multi-disciplinary professionals
- Ensure accurate, timely recording of contacts, assessments, and case notes on IT systems
- Contribute to streamlined, efficient service delivery by reducing unnecessary handoffs
About You- Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant or similar role
- Strong understanding of strengths-based practice and reablement principles
- Confident working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload in a hybrid working environment
