Our client, an established engineering manufacturer, is seeking a skilled and motivated
Production Engineer to join their growing team in
Worthing. This role involves hands-on assembly, testing, and quality assurance of engineered products, working closely with technical documentation and customer specifications. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high-quality products and supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Key Duties :- Interpret and fully understand project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and scope of supply.
- Build components and assemblies to defined dimensions and tolerances, following all approved procedures.
- Conduct product testing in line with customer-approved testing procedures, often in the presence of customers or third-party inspectors.
- Perform paint preparation and painting in accordance with customer and internal procedures.
- Accurately record all productive and non-productive time to support correct cost allocation.
- Ensure all work complies with the company’s Quality Management System and relevant industry and HSE standards.
- Take responsibility for the quality of your own work and contribute actively to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Carry out in-house maintenance and repair work, including strip-down and assessment of customer equipment and production of detailed reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other departments to resolve assembly or production issues.
- Complete all tasks efficiently, accurately, and within defined time and cost parameters.
Critical Skills & Competencies :- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical understanding of engineered products and services.
- Effective verbal communication skills, especially in team or group environments.
- Clear and accurate written communication, with good grammar and attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making skills and commercial awareness.
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to high standards.
