Job Description
The Role
As a Test and Inspection Engineer, you will ensure electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments are safe, compliant, and efficient.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in commercia and industrial environments.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, switchgear, and control equipment.
- Identify and document defects, non-compliances, and safety hazards.
- Provide detailed reports with recommendations for remedial actions.
- Ensure inspections meet BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and other standards.
- Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Communicate findings to clients and offering technical advice.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Participate in training to enhance technical skills.
The Candidate:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical inspection.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification and 18th Edition certification (essential).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and relevant standards.
- Expertise in commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Proficiency in electrical testing equipment and reporting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- A valid UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).
