Job Description

Thames Water is seeking a dynamic CSL Field Performance and Technical Project Manager to drive the success of our £25m-a-year Customer Side Leakage programme. You’ll lead our Service Providers to deliver safe, timely, and high-quality work, with zero compromise on health, safety, or public health. What you will be doing as the CSL Field Performance & Technical Project Manager:

You will lead the assurance of outsourced field operations for our over £25m customer side leakage programme, working with Service Providers to deliver on customer and operational commitments in line with Thames Water’s vision, values, and regulatory targets. As a technical subject matter expert, you will guide programme optimisation, oversee a team of six and a wider workforce of 40 plus, and ensure quality, safety, and compliance with all standards. This role demands strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving to manage risks, support customers, and drive performance across safety, public health, customer experience, people, finance, and asset outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all health & safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements are met by Thames Water teams and Service Providers.
  • Maintain zero tolerance to water quality risks, meeting all DWI standards.
  • Deliver the Water Networks operational plan, monitoring performance and demand.
  • Ensure Service Providers meet contractual, operational, and customer service standards, including Customer Side Leakage Policy.
  • Promote a quality-first approach, technical innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support to Service Providers and customers.
  • Lead, develop, and coach the team, fostering a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Address Service Provider performance issues and ensure appropriate skills and training.
  • Monitor efficiency and challenge providers to deliver value and performance targets.
What you should bring to the role: 
  • Proven track record in operational delivery.
  • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent influencing skills to drive outcomes.
  • Strong performance management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Leakage and construction technical expertise.
  • Highly customer-focused approach.
  • Experience in assuring field activity for a large, remote, and multi-skilled workforce.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through significant periods of change.
  • Experience in managing Service Provider relationships.
  • Track record of developing a high-performance culture.
  • Skilled in creating customer-first environments.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining assurance for operational control and performance management.
  • IOSH certification (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
  • Management of Water Networks (Certificate)
  • Roads and Street Works Act accreditation
Location: Hybrid - Worcester House, Langley SL3 6EY
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
