We have a great opportunity that is predominately a field-based role for a Technical Coordinator to join our North East London team based out Coppermills Advance Water Treatment Works, London.
As the successful candidate you will be working as part of a close and supportive water productions Operations team within Northeast London. You will be focused on maintaining and improving pumping stations infrastructure, to ensure our assets operate 24/7. The role will also require you to manage smaller projects and provide support to the team on larger-scale projects.
You will be accountable for designing complex jobs for works at our pumping stations and ensuring any prerequisites are in place to allow work to be completed by the Field Technicians.
It is envisaged that the right candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them, as well as being disciplined and have the desire to learn from those around you and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too.
What you’ll be doing as the Technical Co-ordinator- Using technical expertise and data captured from the field to design operationally critical jobs
- Highlighting key operational risks across the area and presenting these to obtain funding
- Ordering hire plants and equipment, maintaining the availability of plant and equipment and optimising pumping station performance.
- Produce and provide weekly reports on Plant availability
- Arrange a contractor maintenance to be carried out. Therefore, having a mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or experience preferred.
- Developing strong collaborative relationships with other internal and external stakeholders
- Providing expert advice on technical issues and generating solutions to operational risks
- Support on procurement, obtaining quotes, raising requisitions, order materials, and third-party services through our framework contractors
- Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly, through a safe system of work approval, reviewing RAMS, permitting, and site audits
Base Location: Hybrid - Coppermills WTW – Coppermill Lane E17 7HE (At least 3 days at office)
Working Pattern: 36 Hours per week, Monday-Friday (7:30 - 15:30)
What should you bring to the role?- Demonstrate good business/stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Have excellent communication skills, to clearly interact with your field-based colleagues and key stakeholders.
- Have previous experience in technical job design and/or prerequisite management within a utility company.
- Possess strong IT literacy skills as all work is managed through an SAP system and user training for this and other standard software systems will be provided.
- Have previous experience of co-ordinating and negotiating with contractors and suppliers.
- Have enough knowledge of water production assets and the spares parts, consumables, tools etc
- Take care of yourself and others, we have a zero-compromise approach to Health & Safety and it is critical that all of our employees go home safe and well at the end of each day.
