Help us deliver safe, clean drinking water to Oxfordshire. We’re seeking a Process Technician to join our team, supporting daily water production across multiple treatment sites.
As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll be crucial in maintaining site operations. Key responsibilities include monitoring and optimizing water treatment processes to ensure high standards of quality, compliance, and safety.
We provide full training, including a ‘licence to operate’ program along with essential health & safety and first aid courses. Once trained, you’ll join an on-call standby rota (currently 1 in 6 weeks) with additional pay.
What you’ll be doing as a Process Technician- Operation of plant and equipment, such as turning valves and opening hatches, completion of mandatory and planned, preventative maintenance.
- Complete site rounds of reservoir, water treatment works and water booster sites. You will accurately monitor and record data to ensure we comply with regulatory standards.
- Manual fault finding and intervention to maintain the treatment process or customer supply. Specific examples include changes in chemical dosing.
- You will also have to respond to emergencies, whether this is process failures or power failures.
- Taking responsibility for your health and safety. You may contribute to risk assessments and procedures that contribute to improving health and safety standards on site.
- Complete the ‘licence to operate’ training programme, together with essential health and safety and first aid training courses.
Base Location: Goring, RG8 0BYWorking Pattern: The standard working week starts at 7.30 am and finishes at 3.36 pm, Monday to Friday. A duty standby allowance is paid for participating in the standby roster, and in addition to this allowance, a call-out fee and overtime are paid for all out-of-hours working.
Requirements for the role: UK manual driving licenceWhat you should bring to the role- Bring a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with strong problem-solving skills and a solution-focused approach.
- Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Competent with company IT systems and Microsoft Office; experience with SCADA software is a plus.
- Willing to work independently, at heights, with chemical deliveries, and in confined spaces.
- Hold a full UK manual driving license.
